Foreign investors are increasingly driving the South Korean market: Investors from overseas now account for a record 38.3% of the Kospi’s market cap. This percentage has increased +7 points since June 2025. This comes as foreign holdings of South Korean equities are up to a record $1.39 trillion, tripling since 2024. Foreign inflows have been concentrated in large-cap stocks, including semiconductors such as Samsung and SK Hynix, as well as secondary batteries, power equipment, and defense. Foreign investors are reshaping the South Korean equity market.
